The barbaric child labour system deprives the fundamental rights of the children. The children’s joyful childhood is being denied by this system. Child labourers are exploited. Their future is being ruined.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) implemented Andhra Pradesh State Based Project for the Elimination of Child Labour system in 2001 – 04. The aim is to create a favorable environment in the work places for the elimination of child labour system. The state government, Trade Unions, Employer’s Associations and Voluntary Organizations were involved in this noble mission.
The six major trade unions; AITUC, CITU, INTUC, HMS, BMS and TNTUC formed the “Andhra Pradesh Federation of Trade Unions for the Elimination of Child Labour” and participated in the implementation of the project. AITUC actively participated and published this “పిల్లలు బడికి – పెద్దలు పనికి” booklet.
