The book contains the History of Visakhapatnam Harbour and Port Workers Union, which is one of the oldest AITUC affiliated Trade Unions. It was established in 1936 and has been associated with many prominent personalities during its foundation days, including Sri V.V.Giri, the former President of India, and Comrade Chandra Rajeswararao, the former General Secretary of the Communist Party of India. It also contains the contributions of Sri V.V.Ramarao, who is the General Secretary of All India Port and Dock Workers Federation and also the Honorary President of Visakhapatnam Harbour and Port Workers Union.
