Foreword – My Association and Memories: I owe a great debt of gratitude to my parent organization, the AISF. It provided me with an understanding of the world, international class struggles, and the history of successful revolutionary movements across various countries. Between 1985 and 1990, the AISF gave me the invaluable opportunity to visit socialist countries—where communists held power over a third of the globe—and to witness firsthand the new societies being built there. It fostered a social consciousness in me, enabling me to comprehend the evolution of human society through the ideological lens of Marxism-Leninism. If I, born in a small village, was able to grow into a recognized figure in society, it is primarily due to the pivotal role the AISF played in shaping my personality.
Comrade Virendra Kumar (President) and Comrade Dinesh (General Secretary) of the AISF not only wrote to me inviting me to the organization’s 90th-anniversary celebrations but also called me personally. They requested that I write and submit an essay recounting my experiences within the AISF movement. I wrote and submitted that essay. I am now sharing it with my fellow activists and leaders (from the 1972–91 era), the current ranks of the AISF, and well-wishers of the progressive and democratic student movement.
